15 end user domain purchases in the past week.
Communication Workers of America bought the clever domain VeriGreedy.com last week to take a jab at Verizon. It looks like the domain owner wasn’t very greedy, too.
Here are details on that sale and other “end user” domain buys from the past week.
Sales at Afternic
South Texas Innovations LLC bought STIConstruction.com for $1,895.
Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port, which owns NCSP-net.com, bought NCSP.com for $6,400.
San Antonio design company Backyard Studios upgraded from BackyardStudios.net to BackyardStudios.com for $2,000.
Roll Global, the company behind Fiji Water and POM Wonderful, picked up Untouched.com for $11,750. I’m curious to see what they do with it. The company has a penchant for good domains; it owns Roll.com.
Austin based Meridian Logistics bought FreightPros.com for $1,500.
Catholic “college” Augustin Institute bought CatholicYouth.com for $7,800.
Electronics company Monster, Inc. bought MetalMonster.com for $3,616.
PRShots, an online library hosting company press information and PR images, bought PressArea.com for $4,000.
K&S Quality Associates upgraded from QualityAssociates.ORG to QualityAssociates.com for $1,299. Worth every penny.
PA Personal Physician Care, whcih owns PPCare.net, bought PersonalPhysicianCare.com for $2,000.
Here’s one close to home. Austin Real Estate Partners bought CircleCRanch.com for $1,977. My seller agent for my home last year is with this company. Circle C is a large master planned community in Austin. A smart domain buy.
Sales at Sedo
A Mark Monitor client bought GoFurther.com for $10,000 at Sedo. The whois is currently protected with Mark Monitor’s form of “privacy” service.
Communications Workers of America, a large union that represents phone company employees including at Verizon, spent $850 of union dues to buy VeriGreedy.com at Sedo. It is starting a campaign with the name and has the matching Twitter handle. The domain was registered in 2010.
Material Handling Industry of America, which owns MHIA.org, bought MHI.org for $12,500 at Sedo.
Queryable Corp., the company behind InboundScore & InboxQ, bought HotProspect.com for $2,650 at Sedo. Looks like a great deal to me.

Blog.com launched as a self-serve blog network (a la Blogger.com) in 2010. It boasts two million bloggers (according to the site) and had 19.3 million page views in March (according to Sedo).
The site has an Alexa overall rank of 697 and and Quantcast U.S. rank of 1,794.
Blog.com is owned by Portugalmail, which is putting it on the block so it can focus on its email services.
This is definitely a great asset. The question will be how much Portugalmail wants for it.
